近日，从中南大学国际合作与交流处获悉，中南大学收到美国中华医学基金会（CMB）的资助函，CMB 2012年卫生政策与体系科学（HPSS）公开竞标项目最终评审结果揭晓，湘雅三医院严谨教授“The Effects of Hospital Outreach Intervention on Decreasing Hospitalization and Medical Cost of Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Randomized Controlled Trial”课题在十余所兄弟院校的100多份申请标书中脱颖而出，获得资助，共获课题经费13.7万美元。
        据悉，此次CMB HPSS OC 项目共有来自北京大学、协和医科大学、复旦大学、中山大学、四川大学、浙江大学等17所院校参与申报。最终确定了8个项目向CMB董事会推荐资助，并获得通过。其中中南大学获得三项，北京大学和四川大学分别获得两项，浙江大学获得一项。
        中南大学另外两个获得资助的项目为：湘雅医院肖平教授“Improving Pre-hospital Care in China through the Development of a Model Provincial Pre-hospital Care Training Program”和公卫学院龚雯洁老师“Village doctor-assisted case management for patients with schizophrenia in rural communities: A randomized control study”。
